Noah Walker Trio
This band features the talents of three acclaimed session musicians, guitar player Noah Walker (Khari McClelland, Kitty & The Rooster), bass player Catherine Hiltz (Tegan and Sara, Queer as Funk), and drummer Daniel Ruiz (Leisure Club, DAñSE). Individually they are well known in the Vancouver music scene as hired guns for many of the city’s favourite bands. In this configuration they come together, loosen their collars, and stretch out to play some roots based instrumental music for the people.
The trio is adventurous in their collaborations, playing familiar songs in unfamiliar ways. Digging up deep cuts by David Byrne, Bob Dylan, Weezer, Nina Simone, and more, the songs serve as a framework to explore new ideas and push the limits of what a guitar trio can do.
