ROOMS – Album release party – soft raw driven indie rock, dreamy/easy listening – discourse pop

Rooms,  formerly I make earthquakes has been playing music around Vancouver for over a decade (greenbelt collective, loose tights, Kathleen Lockhart). On December 11th, she will be releasing her 3rd full length album Don’t be yourself on cassette through the local Vancouver label No SUN Recordings. The 12 songs from Don’t be yourself focus on love, lullabye, grief/loss, home/work, solitude and the spirals of motherhood. Rooms identifies with and is inspired by genres like soft rock, sap rock, mama rock, labour punk and singer/songwriter. Her lyric style is direct, sometimes politically infused, self-referential and resonant/relatable. The band’s members also play in Underpass, Cascadia, Leon Patriz, and Half Chinese.
